Project Jupyter is an open-source project that is used to gather software code, computation results, explanations, and multimedia resources into a single document in the form of a computational notebook.

This has been made possible by an enthusiastic community of user–developers and a redesigned architecture allowing it to support dozens of programming languages. The name “Ju” is influenced by Julia, Python and R, as well as co-founder Fernando Perez’s own programming language.
